Paris claims fifth consecutive crown while Bangkok shatters records with 30 million arrivals.
Paris has done it again – for an unprecedented fifth consecutive year, the French capital claims the title of the world’s most attractive city. But when it comes to visitor numbers, a different destination steals the show entirely.
Bangkok welcomed a jaw-dropping 30.3 million international travelers in 2025, leaving every other city in its dust. Hong Kong‘s 23.2 million and London’s 22.7 million don’t even come close. The Thai capital proves that prestige and popularity don’t always align.
Euromonitor International’s latest rankings reveal Europe’s iron grip on the top tier, with six cities cracking the top ten. Madrid snagged second place, while Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, and Barcelona round out the continental sweep. Paris earned its crown through excellence across infrastructure, sustainability, and visitor experience—the complete package rather than just packed streets.
Asia-Pacific flexes its growing muscle with Tokyo at third, Singapore at ninth, and Seoul leaping into tenth position. New York holds down sixth as America’s only top-ten entry, though Los Angeles rocketed up five places to thirteenth. Orlando dominated tourism performance globally, riding the wave of Universal’s Epic Universe launch and massive theme park investments.
London tells a cautionary tale, tumbling to eighteenth after dropping from the top ten last year. Despite solid infrastructure, the British capital stumbles on sustainability and safety measures.
The shift is clear: cities now chase quality over quantity, courting travelers who linger longer, spend bigger, and tread lighter on local communities.
