The new AMAALA resort brings longevity clinics, coastal architecture and a mangrove lagoon to the Red Sea, as Vision 2030 gathers pace.

Middle Eastern tourism remains dampened amidst the on-off US-Iran war. But the luxury travel industry has already invested enormous amounts in the region. Red Sea Global has opened Six Senses AMAALA, a beachfront resort on Saudi Arabia’s north-western coast that marks a significant step in the kingdom’s ambitious tourism drive.

The 100-suite and villa property, which welcomes its first guests this month, is woven into a landscape of cliffs, mangroves and desert mountains, drawing on traditional coastal architecture. A further six resorts are scheduled to open this year as part of AMAALA Triple Bay, which will eventually offer more than 1,600 hotel rooms across nine properties.

“Every partner we bring into our portfolio shares our long-term vision of luxury travel with regeneration at its centre,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global. “Six Senses has built a global reputation for wellness experiences rooted in nature, sustainability and local culture.”

The resort features a Six Senses Spa with a Longevity Centre and Biohacking Recovery Lounge, alongside three restaurants, a cooking school and a mangrove lagoon at its heart. Guests have access to the wider resort offering, including the Corallium Marine Life Institute and the AMAALA Yacht Club.

It is the second collaboration between Red Sea Global and the brand, following Six Senses Southern Dunes at The Red Sea in 2023. The project is part of the Saudi Vision 2030, a national strategy to diversify the economy and position the kingdom as a leading global tourism destination.
