This latest island sanctuary offers 80 private pool villas just 15 minutes from Velana International Airport, setting new standards for accessible luxury in the archipelago.

JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort blends traditional Maldivian architecture with contemporary refinement across its 47 overwater and 33 beach villas. Turkish architect Cuneyt Bukulmez has created a distinctive design language that references local ‘Gedhoru’ huts and lacquerware crafts while maintaining the brand’s sophisticated aesthetic through natural materials and a serene neutral palette.

The culinary landscape spans seven venues, including signature steakhouse Athiri, whose dramatic wave-inspired roof makes an architectural statement, and Riva, which elevates Indian Ocean heritage cuisine. The resort’s commitment to sustainability is demonstrated sees a pioneering collaboration with INVENA and MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab on a 30-meter underwater coastal structure designed to combat beach erosion while creating new marine habitats.

Wellness offerings center around the overwater Spa by JW, featuring the Maldives’ first BABOR precision skincare treatments, while families are catered to through the comprehensive Family by JW program and dedicated kids’ facilities.

“JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island embodies our dedication to blending unparalleled luxury with holistic well-being, offering guests a peaceful escape where every detail is designed to inspire balance and rejuvenation,” says Bruce Rohr, Vice President & Global Brand Leader, JW Marriott.
