The Lyonnais chef Daniel Boulud partners with Mandarin Oriental on a rooftop restaurant where French tradition meets Cantonese flair, and iconic views stretch forever.

There’s something seductive about a restaurant that understands the value of a grand entrance. At the newly opened Terrace Boulud, Daniel Boulud’s highly anticipated Hong Kong debut at 25/F Prince’s Building in Central, Hong Kong, that’s apparent before you’ve even reached the dining room. Step out of the lift and you’re greeted by digital landscapes shifting like scenery viewed from a moving train, a deliberate nod to the golden age of travel that sets the stage for what unfolds.

Created in partnership with Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, marking the hotel’s first dining concept outside its own walls, Terrace Boulud brings the Lyonnais chef’s lifelong relationship with brasserie culture to the city’s vertiginous rooftop scene. And what a scene it is: 164 seats on the wraparound terrace alone, all gazing out at a skyline we never tire of.

Malherbe Paris, the creative force behind the design, understand that views are only part of the equation. The interior unfolds from a sculptural green onyx bar to dining rooms framed by arches and mirrors that draw the city deeper inside. Local craftsmanship gets its moment too, with rattan installations by Hong Kong’s Breakthrough Art Studio weaving seaweed and mountain forms into the space.

On the plate, Boulud’s culinary muses pay homage to French brasserie classics while finding room for playful East-meets-West moments. The DB x MO Dim Sum collaboration yields innovative treasures alongside more familiar dumplings. Leading the kitchen in Hong Kong is Executive Chef Aurélie Altemaire, whose pedigree includes Epicure at Le Bristol and a decade with Joël Robuchon in London. The beverage programme, pours Champagne as liberally as it does cocktails reimagined with Asian accents.

Terrace Boulud opens daily for dinner from its soft launch on the 13th March 2026, with full-day service commencing in April. Dress well, bring an appetite for spectacle, and arrive early enough to watch the light shift over the skyscrapers next to Victoria Harbour. Some journeys are worth taking in slowly.

Address: Terrace Boulud, 25/F, Landmark Prince’s, 10 Chater Rd, Central, Hong Kong.
