The ambitious renovation reimagines all 77 villas with designs inspired by the archipelago’s distinctive marine life and flora.

Setting a new benchmark for the brand’s global escapes portfolio, the new W Maldives is aiming to make a statement in island luxury this year. The Miaja Design Group has created a striking balance of tranquility and adventure, with overwater villas echoing whale shark patterns and beach accommodations reflecting mangrove textures.

The property’s culinary landscape has been completely revitalised, now featuring FISH, a sustainable ocean-to-table restaurant perched above the Indian Ocean, and FIRE, a relaxed beachside smokehouse. As dusk falls, the overwater SIP bar serves Latin American-inspired cocktails to go with those spectacular sunset views.

At the heart of the renovation is the showstopping WET Deck, featuring the Maldives’ first Splinterworks Vertex water slide is something fun for kids and adults – a mirror-polished steel sculptural centerpiece that reflects the surrounding paradise while providing cooling water jets.

For wellness enthusiasts, the AWAY Spa offers modern treatments in four overwater couples’ rooms, while adventure seekers can explore the award-winning house reef or set sail to Gaathafushi, the resort’s private island for a truly special tropical paradise experience.

“We are not simply unveiling a completely renovated resort; we are redefining our signature, liberated approach to destination-driven luxury with this newly reimagined hotel,” said George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, W Hotels.
